Ovens Ford Community BBQ

Applications must be submitted by recognised community organisations including sporting clubs, schools, charities and community groups.

The borrower must be at least 21 years of age. Only approved drivers listed on the application may operate the towing vehicle.

Your booking is only confirmed once written approval has been provided by Ovens Ford.

Collection and return must take place at the same dealership location.

The BBQ trailer may be provided at no hire cost. A refundable bond may be required depending on the event size, location and risk profile.

The bond is refunded once the equipment is returned clean, undamaged and in accordance with the agreed conditions.

• Trailer weight is approximately 1400kg (braked with mechanical disc brakes)
• Maximum towing speed is 100km/h
• Drivers must hold a full Australian Driver Licence for at least 12 months
• Only approved drivers may operate the vehicle

The towing vehicle must be suitable for towing this load and must not be used off-road or outside the approved event.

Yes. The borrower is responsible for ensuring:

• All towing connections are secure before departure
• Lights, indicators and brakes are functioning correctly

This is part of ensuring safe operation throughout the hire period.

• The BBQ must be operated outdoors only
• It must never be left unattended while in use
• All local council and fire authority regulations must be followed
• The BBQ must not be used during a Total Fire Ban unless permitted
• Safe food handling practices must be followed

The BBQ trailer and vehicle must only be used:

• For the approved event listed in your application
• Within the agreed region confirmed at the time of booking

The BBQ trailer must be returned:

• Clean inside and out
• BBQ plates, burners and drip trays thoroughly cleaned
• Free of rubbish and grease
• Floors, walls and surfaces wiped down
• Exterior cleaned if required

If cleaning is required upon return, costs may be deducted from the bond.

The vehicle must be returned:

• Clean and undamaged
• With the same fuel level as collection
• Without warning lights or mechanical faults

Public Liability Insurance is required for certain events, including:

• Events with more than 100 attendees
• Events on public land
• Events requiring council permits
• Events involving food sales

A Certificate of Currency (minimum $10 million cover) must be provided where required.

Ovens Ford provides insurance for accidental damage during normal use. The applicable insurance excess is $1,500 per claim .

The borrower may be responsible for:

• Insurance excess
• Repair costs from misuse or negligence
• Damage not covered under policy (e.g. off-road use, unauthorised drivers)

Damage must be reported immediately.

You must immediately provide:

• Date, time and location
• Names and contact details of all parties
• Vehicle registration numbers
• Witness details
• Photos of the incident and damage

Liability must not be admitted.

Yes. Bookings may be cancelled due to:

• Safety concerns
• Mechanical issues
• Weather or fire restrictions
• Operational requirements or availability
